Precision Leadwork That Protects and Enhances
Leadwork seals every critical junction on a roof — where coverings meet chimneys, walls, valleys, and parapets. When it is installed correctly, it performs invisibly for decades. When it fails, the results are rarely subtle.
At Precision Leadwork & Roofing Service Limited, specialist leadwork is central to everything we do, executed to the correct lead codes, with proper thermal expansion allowances, and the precise detailing that determines how long it lasts.
Our Specialist Leadwork Services
Flashings and Soakers
We install and replace lead flashings and soakers across all applications — chimney stacks, side abutments, dormer cheeks, skylights, and flat roof perimeters. Every installation uses correct lead codes, correctly sized bays, and properly wedged and pointed fixings into masonry.
Lead Valleys
Box Gutters and Parapet Gutters
Lead-lined box gutters are one of the most demanding leadwork applications. We design and install them with correct sizing, appropriate lead code, expansion joints at each bay, and adequate falls to prevent standing water. We also re-line existing box gutters where the original lead has reached the end of its life.
Parapet Details and Coping Flashings
Without correctly installed coping flashings and upstands, parapets allow water into the wall from above. We install Code 6 coping flashings with correct overhangs and drips, along with all associated stepped and cover flashings at the roof junction.
Decorative and Bespoke Lead Features
Lead has been used in decorative applications for centuries. We fabricate and install bespoke hopperheads, finials, custom gutters, and heritage lead details — replicating original profiles where required for conservation and listed building projects.
Heritage Leadwork
On listed buildings and period properties, we take a repair-led approach, preserving original lead wherever it remains viable and replacing only what cannot be saved.
Where new work is required, we use traditional forming techniques appropriate to the building’s age and character, and can liaise with conservation officers as needed.
