Professional Roof Repair Contractors

A leaking or damaged roof needs professional attention, quickly. Left unaddressed, even a minor roof repair can turn into a much more costly problem as water penetrates the roof structure, damages ceilings and walls, and causes damp and rot.

At Precision Leadwork & Roofing Service Limited, we carry out professional roof repairs across all roof types and materials.

Whether it’s a broken tile, damaged lead flashing, failing ridge, or a persistent leak you can’t track down, our experienced team will identify the root cause and fix it properly, the first time.

Expert Roof Repairs - All Roof Types

From a single broken tile to a complex multi-area repair, our NFRC-accredited team has the skills and experience to repair your roof correctly and prevent further damage.

Roof Repairs We Carry Out

Broken, Missing, or Slipped Tiles and Slates

Individual broken, missing, or slipped tiles and slates are one of the most common roofing repairs. Left unaddressed, they allow rainwater to penetrate the roof, leading to damage to the roof deck, rafters, and internal ceilings.

Ridge and Hip Tile Repairs

Ridge tiles sit at the apex of the roof and are bedded in mortar. Over time, this mortar cracks and fails, allowing water ingress and creating a risk of tiles becoming dislodged in high winds. We re-bed and re-point ridge and hip tiles using appropriate mortar, or install dry-fix systems for a longer-lasting, maintenance-free solution.

Lead Flashing Repairs

Lead flashing is used around chimneys, valleys, dormers, and roof-to-wall junctions to create a weathertight seal. As a specialist leadwork contractor, we carry out lead flashing repairs to the highest standard.

Roof Leak Investigation and Repair

Persistent or unexplained roof leaks can be frustratingly difficult to trace. We carry out thorough roof leak investigations to identify the true source of the problem and provide a lasting repair rather than a temporary fix.

Chimney Repairs

Chimneys are a common source of leaks due to their exposed position and the complex junction between the stack and the roof surface. We carry out chimney repairs, including lead flashing replacement, re-pointing of mortar joints, chimney pot repairs, and haunching.

Verge and Mortar Repairs

The verge is the edge of the roof at the gable end, traditionally bedded in mortar. Failing mortar at the verge allows water penetration and can cause tiles to become loose. We re-bed and point verges, or install dry verge systems for improved durability and a neater finish.

Flat Roof Repairs

Flat roofs on garages, extensions, and outbuildings are prone to water pooling, membrane failure, and felt lifting, especially as they age. We carry out flat roof repairs across GRP, EPDM, and felt systems, from small patch repairs through to larger section replacements.

Roof Valley Repairs

Valleys are the internal angles where two roof slopes meet, directing rainwater off the roof. We carry out valley repairs and replacements using quality lead sheet, properly dressed to ensure effective water management.

Finding the Root Cause - Not Just the Symptom

Many roof repairs fail because they address only the visible symptom of a problem, not its underlying cause. A ceiling stain doesn’t always indicate a leak directly above; water can travel along rafters, battens, and felt before appearing on the inside.

Our approach to roof repairs starts with a thorough investigation to identify the true source of any leak or damage. We then carry out a lasting repair that resolves the root cause, not just a temporary patch that will need revisiting in 12 months.

Persistent Leaks - We Find the Source

Frustrated by a recurring leak that keeps coming back despite previous repairs?

Our thorough investigation approach is designed to find the true entry point and fix it properly, saving you time, money, and inconvenience.

When is a Repair Enough - and When Do You Need a New Roof?

We always start from the position that a repair is preferable to a full replacement; it’s usually quicker, more cost-effective, and less disruptive. However, there are situations where continuing to repair an ageing roof becomes a false economy.

During our survey, we’ll give you an honest assessment of your roof’s overall condition and help you understand whether repairs will provide a long-term solution or whether a full replacement might be the more cost-effective option over a 5–10-year horizon.

Roof Repairs to Older and Heritage Properties

Repairing older roofs, including those with natural slate, traditional clay plain tiles, and complex leadwork detailing, requires specialist knowledge and care. We have extensive experience working on period, heritage, and listed properties, ensuring repairs are sympathetic to the original construction.

We source replacement slates and tiles that closely match the existing roof in size, colour, and texture, an important consideration for listed buildings and properties in conservation areas where planning requirements may apply.
